Qui-Gon Jinn's lightsaber was the first truly practical-looking hilt design to show up on the big screen. It reflected the characteristics of the master well. The weapon was workable and simple, designed only to handle well and function reliably. Also the handle is a bit longer than the average because it had to fit in Liam Neeson's hands.
