This was the first time a saber handle curved in the Star Wars universe and for good reason. Count Dooku and expert swordsman was played by one as well, the late great Christopher Lee. To show off his precise fighting technique, they build him a saber to match his elegant style.... later Dooku get's his head chopped off with it.
